WRK Guide

WRK Guide presenter layer

Provider-agnostic real-person presenter architecture, reusable across every WRK surface.

Architecture

WRK Guide Core, with a pluggable presenter

WRK Guide is not wired to one presenter vendor. A single adapter contract sits between the guide and any real-person presenter provider, so the conversation engine can be reused across every WRK surface without being rewritten.

WRK Guide Core owns the intelligence

Knowledge, grounded answers, tour script, navigation permissions, transcripts, feedback capture and analytics all live in WRK. The presenter vendor never holds any of it.

Presenter adapter is a visual face only

One contract — start/stop session, speak, push-to-talk listen, interrupt/resume, mute, stream element, session id, health — implemented per provider.

Voice stays with WRK

Approved narration and answer text is spoken through the configured WRK ElevenLabs voice. The presenter provides the face and lip-sync, not the words.

Graceful fallback is the default

With no provider configured, WRK Guide runs with a presenter placeholder plus captions, transcript, voice and Ask WRK. Nothing else changes.

Enablement

What would turn the placeholder into a live presenter

Provider account

  • LiveAvatar account (liveavatar.com) with API access enabled, on a plan permitting Avatar Only / LITE sessions.
  • LITE mode confirmed so WRK keeps its own knowledge, ASR and ElevenLabs voice rather than the vendor's.
  • A selected avatar: a public LiveAvatar for technical testing, or an approved custom presenter for client-facing use.

Server-side secrets

  • LIVEAVATAR_API_KEY — added in Project Settings → Secrets, read only inside server functions.
  • LIVEAVATAR_AVATAR_ID — the identifier of the selected public or approved custom avatar.
  • LIVEAVATAR_SANDBOX=true — optional test mode while wiring up, to avoid burning session credits.
  • No provider key ever reaches the browser; the client receives only a short-lived room URL and participant token.

Consented presenter asset

  • A source recording or custom avatar built from a named individual who has given written permission.
  • Signed likeness and usage permission held by JDNetworks, covering demo and client-facing use.
  • No likeness is generated here and no real person is depicted until such an asset is supplied.

Live audio consent

  • Microphone is push-to-talk only and never left open by default.
  • Live audio transport to the provider only after the user explicitly starts a question.
  • Only approved presentation and answer text leaves WRK — never customer, policy or personal record data.

No real person’s likeness is created or implied by this demonstration. A live presenter requires a supplied, consented source asset and a signed usage permission before it may be enabled.

Demonstration dataSynthetic data only

This is a concept demonstration built by JDNetworks for the WRK ecosystem. All organisations, figures, scores and performance metrics shown are synthetic and illustrative. Nothing here constitutes insurance advice, a recommendation, a statement of policy suitability or confirmation that any cover exists. A qualified, appropriately authorised broker should assess actual insurance needs.

Site control

Allowlisted actions only

The guide can only trigger the named actions below. It has no unrestricted DOM, application or database control, and cannot read or write records on the user's behalf.

Adaptive presence

Helpful, never intrusive

Show Guide

Full presenter panel with chapters, actions and optional voice.

Minimise Guide

Collapses to a compact Ask WRK launcher with a small presence indicator.

Hide Guide

Dismisses the presenter completely; only a small reopen control remains.

Reopen

Brings the Guide back on demand. Choices persist for the session, so a dismissed Guide stays dismissed.

One gentle check-in

After a surface-configurable idle period the Guide offers Keep helping / Minimise / Leave me for now — once per session only.

Never during active tasks

Suppressed while typing, filling a form, playing a walkthrough or video, asking WRK, or scrolling recently.

Local timing only

Inactivity is measured from on-screen interaction timing. No camera or microphone presence detection, and the mic is never auto-activated.

Surface-configurable

Website: proactive welcome then minimise. CRM: quiet/minimised by default. Client portal: contextual only. Demo: presenter-first, always dismissible.

Accessibility

Keyboard-reachable Show/Minimise/Hide with labels and tooltips, no focus traps, reduced-motion respected.

UX events only

guide_shown, guide_minimised, guide_hidden, guide_reopened, inactivity_prompt_shown, inactivity_prompt_response — no behavioural profiling.

Demonstration data

This proof of concept uses fictional broker branding and entirely synthetic organisations, contacts, signals, scores and records. It does not represent a live W Denis system and no W Denis customer or prospect data is used.
